He served in the Army from March 8, 1945, to Dec. 7, 1946, in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during World War II. He married Agnes Myer Aug. 21, 1951, in Lanesboro, Minn. Survivors: daughters{, Carol Laber, Kathleen Hauser, Deanna Klein, all Minot, Janelle Kurtz, Mary Axdahl, both Devils Lake, Rebecca Quijano, Hudson, N.Y.}; sons{, Charles, Devils Lake, Richard, Fargo}; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother{, Ervin, West Fargo}; sister{, Viola Sondag, Hopkins, Minn}. Funeral: Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Burial: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Devils Lake. [3]
