Tribute: Margaret "Peggy" Tackabury was born in Salt Point, N.Y., to Louis and Ivy Fish Sr. At the age of 15, she attended Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y.

On July 24, 1941, she married Elbert Kelsey Tackabury. They owned and operated a dairy farm in Canastota, N.Y., and had five children. They moved to Colorado Springs in 1966 and to Greeley in 1968. Mr. Tackabury died Aug. 4, 1973.

Mrs. Tackabury worked as a secretary in the progressive care center at North Colorado Medical Center for 16 years. She retired June 1, 1990 and lived in Greeley until 2004.

Mrs. Tackabury died Tuesday at Valley View Villa in Fort Morgan.

Survivors: Two sons, Paul and wife Pam of Laguna Beach, Calif., and Richard and wife Joyce of Wiggins; three daughters, Linda Jabara and husband James of Richland, Wash., Julie Smith and husband David of Portland, Ore., and Sally Baldwin and husband Edward of Makawao, Hawaii; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; two sisters, Constance Yorton of Florida and Mary Ferry of New York; and a brother, David W. Fish, also of New York.

Preceded in death by: Her husband, her parents, a grandson and two brothers.

Graveside services: 3 p.m. Friday at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Greeley.

Visitation: Noon-2 p.m. Friday at Adamson West Chapel.
