- NEW ULM Vickie Lea, 49, of Madison Lake and formerly of New Ulm, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007 at her home.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 22 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Rev. Gloria Anderson officiating. Burial will be Thursday afternoon in the Fairview Cemetery in Willmar.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Schmucker Funeral Service in New Ulm, and one hour prior to service at the church.
Victoria Lynn Lea, the daughter of Ronald and Nancy Lea, was born Nov. 8, 1957 in Willmar.
After graduating from Willmar High School in 1976, Vickie attended Mankato State University, obtaining Bachelor of Arts degrees and teaching certification in Psychology and Sociology in 1981.
She married {David} Hirth Nov. 29, 1980 in Willmar. They made their home in New Ulm.
Vickie taught in the Sleepy Eye Public Schools and worked as a substitute teacher in New Ulm and Mankato. She moved to Madison Lake in 2002.
She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church and the Bible study group.
{Survivors include her son, Tyler David Hirth and friend Ashley Nantes of Little Canada; daughter, Morgan Lea Hirth of New Ulm; mother, Nancy Lea and friend Robert Ardolf of Edina; brothers, Rory Lea and his wife Amy of Chanhassen, Chad Lea and his wife Lori Jensen-Lea of Chaska; nieces and nephews.}
She was preceded in death by her father in 1990.
