- Funeral services were held Monday at the Highland Prairie Lutheran church for James Mindrum, 68, of Whalan, who died Thursday at this home while shoveling snow. Death was die to a heart attack. Burial was in the church cemetery. He was born May 28, 1906 in Norway Township, MN the son of Ole and Julianna Mindrum. On December 4, 1932 he married Stella Rasmussen. He was a member of the Highland Prairie church. He was a former member of the Maland School board, a member of the Lutheran Brotherhood, a member of the church choir, and former member of the Peterson Barber shoppers. Survivors are his wife; one son, James, Readstown, WI; two daughters, Mrs. Jack Thomas, Savannah, GA, Mrs. Orville Schroeder, Rochester, MN, 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; one brother, Elmer, Madison, WI, and two sisters, Mrs. Harley Larson, Mabel, and Mrs. Eleanor Shattuck, of Lanesboro. Six brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
