Edward C. Givens, 75, of 14 State St., Oneida Castle, died in Oneida City Hospital this morning shortly after he was admitted as a medical patient. Surviving is a duaghter, Mrs. Martha G. Stevbens, Butlar, Ga. Mr. Givens was born in Brookfield, April 15, 1880, the son of William and Alvira Vidler Givens. He married the former Melvia Tackabury. She died in 1948. Mr. Givens formerly operated a confectionary store on Main St., Oneida, for 10 years. He was also formerly employed by Onedia Ltd., Sherrill, and as a service man for the Keller Motor Car Co. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Martha Stevens, Butlar, Georgia, and one grandchild. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Whitford Funeral Home, Washington Ave. Burial will be in Oneida Castle Cemetery. [3, 5, 6]
