- Betty J. Martinous, 82, of Frontenac, KS, passed away at 2:39 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at Via Christi Hospital. She was born December 10, 1929 at Fairfax, Oklahoma the daughter of L. Grant and Reta E. Merrick. She graduated in 1947 from Weir High School and in 1948 from Pittsburg School of Cosmetology. Betty managed the Hair Salon at the Jones Store. On August 27, 1960, she was united in marriage{ to Raymond Martinous at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church}. {Raymond and }Betty owned and operated Martinous Produce Company for 67 years. In addition to her husband{, Raymond of the home}, she is survived by two daughters{, Nancy Martinous Oldham and her husband, John of Pittsburg and Marla Martinous Deweese and her husband, Doug of Houston, TX}; and a granddaughter{, Shelby Oldham}. Mass of Christian burial will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Frontenac, KS, with Fr. Thomas Stroot as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery. The parish rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m., Friday at Brenner Mortuary. [2]
