Anthony "Tony" Harker was born 14 Apr 1869 in Moestroff, Luxembourg and named Antoine. His birth certificate indicates that his father was Michel Haquin, born 13 Oct 1826 in Uckange, France; his mother was Elizabeth Venandy, born 29 Dec 1836 in Moestroff. Tony came to the US in 1886 and worked in John Shoemacher's butcher and grocery shop. By 1900, he was a farmer in Bristol, Kendall County, Illinois. On 17 Apr 1894, he married Susanna Goschey. Susanna was born 27 Sep 1871 in Wisconsin, the daughter of Peter Goschey and Mary Wiseler.
Tony and Susanna had twelve children: Peter born 22 Feb 1895, died in infancy, John James born 5 Apr 1896, married Alice Kern, Theodore Michael born 2 Nov 1897, married Elizabeth Schroedoer, George James born 22 Feb 1899, married Evelyn Kern, Amel Peter born 27 Sep 1900, married Lavania Paris, Martin Matthew born 19 Dec 1902, married Isabel Baadte, Ferdinand F. born 10 Jul 1904, married Helen Bornemann, Frances born 3 Jan 1907, married Samuel Burton, Margaret born 21 Feb 1909, first married Charles Calkins, second married Red Greyer, Oliver born 30 Dec 1910, married Georgia Hollandsworth, Madeline born 10 Aug 1912, married Leonard Nickels and Tressa born Oct 1917, married Earl Goodale.
John James Harker, born 5 Apr 1896 in Aurora, Kane County, Illinois, was married to Alice Elizabeth Virginia Kern on 2 Feb 1921 in Aurora. Alice was born 25 April, 1899, the daughter of George Lambert Kern and Albina Virginia Goyette. John died 4 Mar 1975 in Sugar Grove, Kane County, Illinois. Alice died 30 Dec 1979, also in Sugar Grove. Both are buried in Jericho Cemetery, Sugar Grove, Illinois.
