  Notes	Walter N. Johnson, 79, 1608 W. Main St., Merrill, a former Merrill Fire Chief, died Thursday afternoon in Holy Cross Hospital, Merrill. Services will be held Monday in Schram-Wald Funeral Home, Merrill. Burial will be in Merrill Memorial Park. Mr. Johnson was born July 2, 1897, in Medford, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Johnson. He was married June 14, 1917 in Merrill to Laura Radke, who survives. Mr. Johnson was a fireman in Merrill from 1925 until 1942, when he became fire chief. He served in that capacity until retiring in 1949. A World War I veteran, Mr. Johnson was also a member of St. Stephen's United Church of Christ.
