    • Edmund Erickson, age 76, of Chetek, WI, formerly of Argyle, WI, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Meriter Hospital in Madison, WI, following a sudden illness. He was born January 14, 1936 in Argyle the son of Edmund and Mildred (Zimmerman) Erickson. Edmund graduated from Argyle High School, attended University of Wisconsin-Platteville, and received his Masters Degree in Counseling from Winona State University. He served in the United States Army. Edmund taught Biology and was a football coach at Gays Mills, Iowa Grant, and New Glarus. He was a counselor at Madison Area Technical College for 25 years. Edmund was united in marriage to Audrey Overland on March 27, 1965 in Winona, MN.

      Edmund is survived by his wife: Audrey at home; five children: Cathy (Mike) Mulligan of Odessa, FL, Joe Schneider of St. Petersburg, FL, Linda (Tim) Sweeney of Verona, WI, Ric (Suzanne) Erickson of Richmond, VA, and Suzanne (Dave Semel) Erickson of Los Angeles, CA; nine grandchildren: Erin (Sam) Barrera, Adam and Eric Schneider, Christopher and Kelsey Sweeney, Steffen, Alec, and Olivia Erickson, and Forrest Erickson Semel; two great-grandchildren: Matthew and Katelyn Barrera; and eight siblings: Calvin (Virginia) Erickson of Monroe, WI, Duane (Selma) Erickson of Sacramento, CA, Alex (Mary) Erickson of Wichita, KS, Fred Erickson of Las Vegas, NV, Gretchen (Tom) Resen of Reedsburg, WI, Robert Erickson of Platteville, WI, Janet Reimer of Waukesha, WI, and Jeffrey (Connie) Williams of Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter-in-law: Linda Schneider; one sister: Marian Reineger, and one brother: John Williams.

      Edmund had an extreme passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and visiting with friends and family. Edmund treasured life and truly appreciated the small things, like duct tape. He also enjoyed talking to everyone and was always interested and curious about others and the world until the day he passed away.

      A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at 12:00 p.m. at Argyle Lutheran Church, 100 East Street in Argyle with Rev. Larry Pinnow officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of celebration of life. The Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle is serving the family.
