    Notes
    • Ardelle Overland, 80, a longtime Alamo, North Dakota resident, passed away Saturday morning, August 24, 2013, at the Bethel Lutheran Home in Williston, North Dakota. Ardelle was born March 20, 1933 to Alfred and Ingeborg Anderson in Wildrose, ND. She was raised and educated in Alamo, ND, where she graduated from high school in 1951. She married Gordon Overland on her 21st birthday, March 20, 1954, at Skabo Lutheran Church, rural Alamo. Gordon and Ardelle made their home in Crosby and Alamo, where they farmed until retiring. Upon retirement, they moved to The View Assisted Living in Minot, ND. Ardelle moved to Bethel Home in December, 2012. Ardelle worked at the Sogard Store and Alamo Cafe while attending high school. She began employment with American State Bank in Williston following graduation and worked at the main bank and later at the Alamo branch of American State Bank. She remained there until the bank closed at that location. Following her employment with the bank, Ardelle became secretary of Calvary Lutheran Church in Alamo. She held this position for many years and worked with several ministers throughout this time, all of whom became like family to her and Gordon. When living in Alamo and raising their children, Ardelle was a member of the Alamo school board and active with other school functions and organizations. She enjoyed watching her sons play basketball in high school and was known to offer her glasses to the referees a time or two! She was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church Ladies Aide and Alamo Senior Citizens. Her favorite pastime was playing cards with friends and family, and 'occasionally' visiting local casinos. She was a wonderful baker and cook, especially when it came to her lefse, homemade bread, and meatballs and gravy. All through her life with Gordon, she supported his farming operation with countless late suppers, early breakfasts, and meals brought out to the field. Ardelle was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, on February 29, 2012; her parents, Alfred and Ingeborg Anderson; her brothers, Elmer Anderson and Charles Anderson. Surviving Ardelle are her four children and their families {: son, Kevin Overland , Minot, ND; Kevin's sons, Jason Overland, Williston, Brent Overland, Williston and Toby Overland, Portland, OR; daughter, Katheryn Harvey, St. Charles, MO and their son, Jaron Harvey , St. Charles, MO; son, Keith Overland, Williston, and their children, Tavia Overland, Tanner Overland, Tucker Overland, Tracer Overland, and Taysha Overland, all of Williston; daughter, Karen Gebeke, Casselton, ND and their daughters, Brianne Gebeke and Alexandra Gebeke, both of Fargo, ND. Ardelle is survived by one very special great-grand-daughter, Sophie Ann Overland of Williston}. Ardelle is also survived by three sisters-in-law{, Elenora Anderson of Powers Lake, ND; Mavis Anderson of Bismarck, ND; Doris Johnson of Crosby, ND}; and several nieces and nephews. We would like to thank the staff at Bethel Lutheran Home for all their wonderful care and compassion while mom was a resident there. Mom, your smile, the sound of your laughter and your wonderful sense of humor will never be forgotten. We love you. The Everson Funeral Home of Williston is caring for the family. Her funeral service will be celebrated Tuesday afternoon, August 27, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alamo. Rev. Kay Reeb will officiate. Friends may call at the Everson Funeral Home Monday, from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., and at the church on Tuesday for the hour preceding the funeral. Cremation will follow the service. The cremated remains will be buried at a later date in the Riverview Cemetery in Williston. [2]
