- They lived at Brewster, NY and Waterbury, CT, then settled at Cheshire, CT, where they were living in 1877. He enlisted Aug. 9, 1862, in Co. A, 20th Reg., Conn. Vol. Infantry; was appointed corporal, and promoted to sergeant. He took part in the battle of Chancellorsville, where he was wounded in the head, May 3, 1863; and in the engagements at Resaca, Cassville, GA, Peachtree Creek, and at Atlanta, where he was wounded in his foot, disabling him, and he was discharged Dec. 20, 1864.
