- Madeline Nickels, 87 of Aurora, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2000 at Manor Care in Naperville. She was born August 10, 1912 in Bristol Township, IL. Mrs. Nickels was a member of Holy Angels Church and formerly a member of the St. Anne Society. She was also a member of the Ladies of Columbus , Kane County Home Extension and the Sugar Grove Seniors. Survivors include her six children{, George A. Nickels of Broadhead, WI, Dr. Matthew L. Nickels of Clovis, CA, Dennis L. Nickels of Sugar Grove, IL, Catherine S. Lubinski of Milwaukee, WI, Patricia Nickels and Ron Budziack of Aurora, IL, Mary M. Hoffman of Sugar Grove, IL}; her three sisters{, Frances Burton of Elgin, Margaret Greyer of Sugar Grove and Tressa Goodale of Mesa, AZ}; 32 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and her dearest friend, Lora Belle Rausch. She was preceded in death by her husband, M. Leonard Nickels in 1987; her parents, Anthony and Susan Harker; a son, LeRoy J. Nickels in 1995; a grandson and eight brothers. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2000 at 9:30 AM from the Daleiden Lake Street Mortuary to Holy Angels Church at 10 AM. Fr. Brian A. Geary will officiate, with interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Bristol, IL. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 9, 2000 from 3 PM until 8 PM with the Rosary recited at 7 PM at the Daleiden Lake Street Mortuary, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora, IL 630-898-8634. Memorial contributions in Madeline's name may be made to either The American Cancer Society or to The American Heart Association. [2]
