    • Mrs. George M. Campbell, 87, lifelong resident of Livingston county, died Tuesday afternoon at 3:15 o'clock following several months illness. Mrs. Campbell for the last year had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Hazel Yarbrough, 1702 Calhoun street. Alice Girdner Campbell was born near Springhill Aug. 30, 1868, the daughter of James M. and Emma Girdner. She was a granddaughter of Mrs. Elizabeth (Parman) Girdner, daughter of a Revolutionary war soldier, who with her husband, David, were early settlers in the Springhill community. She attended school and church in her community and was converted quite young. She was a member of the Springhill Methodist church and at the time of her death was a member of the Elm Street Methodist church, the McNally Bible Class and the Order of Eastern Star. She was married to George M. Campbell of near Avalon, June 26, 1898. He preceded her in death Dec. 13, 1945 at the age of 84. Mrs. Campbell is survived by four sons, Clyde Wingo, by a former marriage; George G. Campbell, Thomas M. Campbell, Bill Munro Campbell, all of Chillicothe, and a daughter, Mrs. Yarbrough, Chillicothe City Treasurer; two sisters, Mrs. J. L. Francis, Chillicothe, Mrs. S. V. Ramsey, Boone, Colo., and one brother, David F. Girdner, Chillicothe; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three daughters, Mrs. Mayme Reynolds, Miss Ruth Campbell and Miss Marian Campbell. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Gordon Home for Funerals, conducted by the Rev. Tom E. Bray, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial will be made in Edgewood cemetery.
