  Notes	Mrs. Lena Grouse Anderson, 88, died Tuesday morning (Oct. 1, 1974) at Hedrick Medical Center. She had made her home at 423 Clay. Mrs. Anderson was born April 1, 1886, at Chillicothe, the daughter of Goodlow Grouse and Mary Girdner Grouse. She was a member of the First Baptist church and the Business and Professional Women's Club. Her survivors include two sons, Gene Anderson, 1040 62nd Court, Downers Grove, Ill., and John Anderson, Tehran, Iran; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, husband, brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas R. McLean officiating. Burial will be in the Edgewood cemetery, under the direction of the Gordon Home for Funerals. Lena was a professional piano player. She homesteaded in Kit Carson, CO and married W.W. Anderson, also a homesteader in Kit Carson, on July 7, 1913. Mrs. Laura Francis received a letter from Kit Carson, Colorado Wednesday afternoon announcing the marriage of Miss Lena Grouse, formerly of this city to Mr. W. W. Anderson of that place last Monday. The announcement came as a complete surprise to her many friends in and near this city. Miss Grouse is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Goodlow Grouse and a sister of Miss Gladys Grouse, a popular teacher in the local schools. Miss Grouse went to Colorado nearly three years ago where she settled on a claim near Kit Carson. She will prove up on her claim during the coming August. Mr. Anderson is known to several Chillicotheans who have visited in that country. He is a very prosperous young rancher owning one of the largest ranches in that section and a large stock raiser. A bountiful picnic dinner was served at noon and during the afternoon the men played croquet while the ladies visited.
