The Laurel Memorial Park cemetery records state that James Comey's cremains were buried there on 1 Mar 1985 along with the body of his wife Elsie. I wonder if SSDI was not notified of his death until Elsie's death in February of 1985.

I am not a descendant of these individuals as Grace Augusta Chittenden (great grandmother of the mentioned James Edward Comey) is my 7th cousin, thrice removed. My Chittenden connection is through my 2nd great grandmother, Adelaide Lavinia Chittenden (1843-1925), wife of George Turner (1843-1914), daughter of Albert Cornelius Chittenden and grand-daughter of Cornelius Chittenden who fought in the Revolutionary War. The wife of James Edward Comey was named Phyllis. I do not know her last name. She was born in 1914 in New York City and she and James were married and living in New Jersey by 1935. James was born jun 14, 1911, in Connecticut, probably Bridgeport, Fairfield County, and died Feb 1985, Pleasantville, Atlantic County, NJ. James' father, Orlo Edward Comey was born aug 13, 1885 in Connecticut, probably Bridgeport, Fairfield County. He had married Grace Milner James by 1910 in Bridgeport, Fairfield County, CT. Grace was born Aug 1885 in Stockport, Columbia, NY. Grace's father, Thomas Harvey James, was born jun 5, 1859 or 1860 in New York and married Florence (last name unknown) in about 1884 in New York. Florence was born jun 1861 in New York. That is all the information I have on these individuals. [1, 3, 6, 8, 9, 10]
