- Millard Carroll Keeler, Ponca City resident, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, at the Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was 73.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at the Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Harden, officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home.
Millard was born on Dec. 11, 1930, to Chester Otis and Esta Martha Murrell Keeler in Fairfax. He graduated Burbank High School in 1948 and lived most of his life around the Ponca City area . He served his country during the Korean Conflict as a corporal in the United States Army. He married Lenora Jean Cunningham in Ponca City on April 8, 1955. He loved being with his family and friends and enjoyed farming. Millard was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Keeler of the home; one son, Allen R. Keeler and wife Kathy of Albuquerque, N.M.; one daughter, Rebecca A. Hawkins and husband Steven of Ponca City; five grandchildren, Jenny Block and her husband Russell of Burleson, Texas, Benjamin Hawkins, Andrew Hawkins, Charity Hawkins and Grace Hawkins, all of Ponca City; one great-grandchild, Corbin Block of Burleson, Texas; three sisters, Violet Ross, Bernice Selvey, both of Ponca City, and Phyllis Hamill of Tulsa; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Otis and Esta Martha Murrell Keeler; two brothers, Donald and Duane Keeler; and one sister, Loretta Rankin .
