Interview with Alan Taylor, grandson, 2/23/2002: He met Floyd and "Bobbie" more than once. He remembers him as a genial person, always smiling. In fact, Floyd reminds Alan of his son, Theodore, who smiles all the time. He said that Floyd married Bobbie in 1940, having met her while overseeing a CCC camp in New Mexico. She was a hairdresser, and continued to practice with a few loyal clients from her home, even after she retired.
Alan said that Floyd bought a fruit grove in Weslaco around 1923 and moved the family to the Rio Grande Valley from Michigan. [Note: his wife Allie's mother died in 1922, and her father evidently moved to Texas with them.]
