    Notes
    • Mrs. Rosina (Eannace) Colarusso, age 94, of Utica, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2007, at the Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center.
Born in Little Falls, NY, on May 28, 1913, Rosina was the daughter of the late Vincent and Josephine (Gallo) Eannace. She came to the Utica area in 1960, where she has since resided. She was capped as a Registered Nurse from St. Peter's Hospital in Albany with the class of 1936. On April 21, 1941, she married Carmen Colarusso, with whom she shared a union of love and devotion until his passing on September 12, 1957.
Rosina held nursing positions at Leonard Hospital in Troy, NY, for 5 years, the Mary McLellan Hospital in Cambridge, NY, and the Faxton Hospital in Utica for 18 years, retiring in 1979. A strong woman whose life revolved around her two sons, she carried on the roles of mother and father. She had a keen sense of humor and loved to cook Italian dishes for her family. She volunteered at the Greenwich Fire Department at their annual spaghetti dinner fund raiser. She was a member of the Faxton Hospital Nursing Association, the New York State Nursing Association and the Scleroderma Foundation, of which she was one of its first members, and was also mentioned in a medical journal article as one of the first people diagnosed with the disease. Devoutly religious, Rosina was in touch with her Catholic faith and was a parishioner of Historic Old St. John's Church. [1]
