- Nels "Chub" Colbenson, 64, died suddenly of a heart attack Monday at his home in Rushford. He was born here Aug. 29, 1894, son of Mr. and Mrs. Colben Colbenson, and married Florence Eggen May 20, 1922 at Rushford. He was employed by Earl's Tree Service as a mechanic and was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Colbenson is survived by his wife; two sons, Robert, stationed with Air Force in Africa and Keith, Palm Dale, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. William Anderton, Los Angeles; four brothers, Fritz and Ted, Rushford, and Casper and Victor, Cornell, Wis., and four sisters, Mrs. George James, Rushford; Mrs. O. O. Fetting, Eyota; Mrs. Albert Heideman, Mountain Home, Ark., and Mrs. Soren Backman, Cornell, Wis. Two brothers are dead and a son, Francis, died in infancy. Jensen Funeral Home is making funeral arrangements.
Nels worked as mechanic for J. Eggen & Sons in Rushford, MN.
