Notes - Edgar H. Eggen, 59-year old prominent Rushford businessman, and father of our deputy sheriff, Homer Eggen, died suddenly at 3:00 on Wednesday afternoon from a heart attack while going from his home to the Eggen garage, where he was a partner in the business. M.r Eggen was born at Rushford on November 20, 1888, the son of John and Olive (sic) Eggen. He was graduated from the Rushford high school in 1906 and served in World War I. He married Miss Ruth Tollefson May 20, 1922. For many years he was a member of the Rushford school board and was re-elected at the last election. He also was a member of the Rushford American Legion post and its former commander and adjutant. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Paul of Rushford and Homer of Preston; three brothers, Alfred, Rosemead, Calif.; Conrad and Daniel, Rushford; one sister, Mrs. N. E. Colbenson (Florence) Rushford, and one grandchild. Funeral services were held last Saturday afternoon from the home and from the Rushford Lutheran church, Rev. N. L. Otterstad officiating. The Rushford Legion attended in a body, and conducted graveside services.
