Notes	TRI COUNTY RECORD (5-26-1949) Edward Mindrum Died Thurs May 12 Edward P. Mindrum of Osakis passed away Thursday, May 12th of a heart ailment at the home of his son Palmer of Houston where Mr. Mindrum and his wife had come to make their home for an indefinite time. Mr. Mindrum came to seek aid for his health with the Doctors in La Crosse. Edward, Mindrum was born January 21, 1873, on a farm near the Highland Prairie church. He was the son of Peter and Olene Olson. In March 1895 he was united in marriage to Elise Johnson. To this union was born a daughter, Ella, and a son, Palmer. His wife passed away after five years of married life. His daughter also preceded him in death. In March, 1914 he was married to Caroline Frandsen. They farmed the Hans Hanson farm until 1918 when they moved to Osakis where they have been farming until Mr. Mindrums health began to fail three years ago. He is survived by his wife Caroline, and son, Palmer, one brother, Oscar of Valleyview, Alberta. One sister Mrs. Bertha Edenloff of Zahl, North Dakota, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Sunday May 15 from Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Mindrum home at Oak Ridge and at the Highland Prairie Lutheran Church with Rev. N.S. Magelssen of Decorah, Iowa officiating. Mrs. Alf Mindrum sang "Sunrise tomorrow". Burial was made at the Highland Prairie Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Carl Dragvold, Monroe Johnson, Tommy Thompson, and Hans Overland. Alternate marriage date: 26 Mar 1914 The home farm is upon the Hans Franson place, in Norway township He farmed until 1918 when he moved to Osakis Lived in Osakis, MN on 27 Jul 1930 Living in Osakis, Minn. on 25 Mar 1949 Died of a heart attack at the home of his son, Palmer, at Oak Ridge south of Rushford. He had come from his home at Osakis, MN two weeks ago to visit his son Cause of death: stroke [3, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21]
